Natural Treatment in fertility center

1.  Natural treatment will be given to patients when they are not financially ready to do  other expensive ART treatments
2. It is prescribed when they need break after IVF treatment failure
3. Woman can undergo natural treatment when she tries to get pregnant within 1.6 years of married life.
4. Natural treatment can be suggested to patients who start their fertility treatment for the first time and to those who needs low dosage.

Eligibility for natural treatment:

Before getting into natural treatment doctors should well known about your body condition, your weight, age, about your Fallopian tube condition (whether it is open or not), any cyst formation in your reproductive organs and your ovaries size. If everything is normal then the doctors will suggest you to proceed with natural treatment.

Prescription for natural treatment  

(I am sharing my prescription in GG hospital, Chennai for the natural conception with PCOD condition)

To initiate menses:

If a woman comes for scan review with complaint of no menses till date

Doctors will prescribe for the pregnancy test

If the pregnancy test is negative then the tablets are prescribed to initiate the menstrual cycle.

(Meprate 10mg) Progestin/Progesterone tablet is prescribed (M,N,N) for 7 days to initiate menstrual cycle.

They asked to come for scan review on 2^nd of periods.

For natural conception:

Soy isoflavone extract capsule (ovacare)

This capsule produces sufficient amount of estrogen in body in natural treatment.

Anastrozole (Anosam 1mg ) is also prescribed once a day for 5 days. (after onset of mensus) which helps in follicular development. This is less effective than clomiphene citrate.

Progesterone tablet ( Duphaston 10mg) is given from M/0/N for 10 days. This should be taken from 18^th day onwards.

Natural sex

Natural sex has to be done on 14^th,16^th, 18^th and 20^th  day of menstrual cycle.

If your periods get delayed within 35-38 days you can check home pregnancy test at home.

If your pregnancy test is negative visit your doctor's office on 2nd day periods for scan review.

This kind of prescription varies from fertility center to other and also person conditions.

Folic acid capsule (folate) is prescribe for all woman who tries for fertility treatment.

Multivitamin tablets (Multigates) will be given for all woman who tries for fertility treatment

Woman who is trying to get pregnant can have acupuncture as a supportive treatment along with medicinal treatments. Acupuncture helps you get pregnant.

How it helps:

The principle of acupuncture treatment is

1. ·         It increases blood flow in uterus which may help with embryo implantation.  
2. ·         It increases the quality of egg formation.
3. ·         It reduces stress and increase sleep quality
4. ·         It helps to balance the female sex hormones secretion.
5. ·         Thus it helps in fertility treatment anatomically.
6. ·         It balances the endocrine system

When acupuncture is done:

1.    During the follicular phase - day 5, 6, 7 or 8 of your menstrual cycle (day 1 being the first day of heavy flow).

2.    The day before, day of or day after ovulation (as indicated by your LH surge).

3.    During implantation time (6 - 10 days after ovulation).

How many sessions:

For the fertility treatments patients are asked to come daily for an hour session initially (for almost 10-15 days). After 15 days of treatment generally they asked to come once in a week or three to four hour-long sessions in a month. It always depends upon the women condition, mode of treatment and acupuncturist.

You can continue this supportive treatment till your pregnancy test positive. I would recommend woman to go for acupuncture along with IUI/ IVF treatment. Kindly do not do acupuncture after the embryo/ blastocyst transfer. Make it clear, this treatment helps you to maintain the blood circulation in your body parts, prepare your body for the IUI/IVF, helps to give positive result along with medicines

Procedure:

Acupuncture promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites--commonly referred to as acu points.

The most common method used to stimulate acupoints is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin.

Mostly the needles are contacted with skin for minimum of 20 minutes.

Then the acupuncturist swirl the needle or give slight impulse to make blood circulation faster

Few very small, short needles can be left in for a few days also.

Acupunture with Chinese herbs

Acupuncture along with Chinese herbs in infertility treatment can improve almost every cause of this obstacle. Infertility caused by blocked Fallopian tubes is usually very effectively treated with IVF. However Chinese clinics treat such blockages with acupuncture and with herbs taken both orally and as an enema. Foot patches will be given to detoxify the body before treatment.

Acupunture for PCOD/PCOS

            Acupunture helps PCO patients to ovulate eggs in ovulation days of menstrual cycle (14-16 day). It prevents cyst formation. I personally tried acupuncture along with IUI treatment and got pregnant. During this IUI treatment in scan review the gynecologist informed one small new cyst is formed in that cycle. But with the help of acupuncture treatment my cyst is cleared. This was proved in my next month scan review where no newly cyst formed in my ovary. Thus it is boon for PCO patients.

PCOS and PCOD

PCOS

Woman with poly cystic ovarian syndrome, the ovaries produce higher levels of androgen than normal. This interferes with egg development and also interferes with ovulation process. Some form cyst which has fluid filled sacs. The cyst will get larger and larger also.

PCOD

Poly cystic ovary disorder is hormonal imbalance condition that has collection of mature eggs in ovaries. These are also become cyst. Due to the presence of one cyst it leads to formation of more cysts in subsequent menstrual cycles. Insulin resistance, hormonal disturbances or stress lead to PCOD condition.

PCOS Diagnostic test

With the help of self assessment and medical diagnosis you can conclude that you have PCO condition.

Is it possible to get pregnant with pcos/pcod?

Absolutely yes.

How to get conceive?

1.     Trust in doctor’s treatment.

2.     Stop googling for each and every symptom you have.

3.     Take supportive treatments along with allopathy.

4.     Track ovulation date by calendar or by ovulation kit.

5.   Some people believe in mucus secretion but I almost confused with it. So my advice not to follow.

6.     Be positive and be patient.
7.  Moderate exercise and fertility diet.

8.     Both pregnancy and menstrual symptoms are same. Do not confuse if you even get abdominal pain or mucus white discharge.

Hysterosalpingogram

A HSG is an xray procedure performed to determine whether the fallopian tubes are open and to see if the shape of uterine cavity is normal. This is an outpatient procedure.

How it is done?

Patient is positioned under fluoroscope (x-ray imager) on a table. Radiologist examins her uterus and places a speculum in vagina. Slight discomfort occurs in this procedure. The cervix is cleaned and cannula is placed into opening of cervix. Then the iodine is passed through the cannula. It passes outline the length of tubes and spills out their end if they are open. This can be visible on a monitor. it is done on 8th-10th day of mensus

Is it comfortable?

An HSG usually causes mild to moderate pain for 5 minutes. Some people experience to several hours. It will reduce slowly. Only trained technician and 
good private hospitals can bring comfort zone for the patients.

Fainting: Rarely, patients get light headed during the procedure.

Spotting: Spotting commonly occurs for one or two days after HSG.

Prescription:

An injection is given to patient an hour before the procedure which relaxes the muscles during the diagnostic procedure.

Chances of pregnancy: 10% of Women can naturally conceive after this diagnostic procedure as it clean up the tubes.

Antibiotics are given before the procedure.

The possible options are

If one tube is patent, the doctor may plan for a couple of IUI cycles if ovulation occurs in the ovary which is not block

If both tubes are blocked, the doctor may suggest IVF as an option.

If there are structural anomalies in the tubes, uterus, etc, other corrective procedures may be suggested.

My experience:

I did thrice for the natural fertility treatment to detect my tubes are normal. It was a horrible experience as I did not aware about the procedure. I thought it is like basal ultrasound scan. I got severe pain and bleeding after the procedure. But last two times I never experience such pain as the procedure is done by trained technician and in private hospital.      2.  Vitamin D capsules

PCO patients lack in vitamin D can take cod liver oil capsules once in each day as a supplement. This helps in preventing the cyst formation further.

3.    Daily GreensAny spinach for about 4 teaspoon has to be included in diet. It is rich in folic acid which increases the quality of egg for conception. I would recommend spinach diet to all women trying to get pregnant till pregnancy test positive

.4.    Apple Cider Vinegar, Cinnamon and Honey (10 ml)It helps in reducing weight along with exercise. This will prevent any cyst formation in uterus. It has to consume early in the morning.

5.    Maca RootI have ordered through amazon. It is little bit costly but gave good results in balancing the hormones. It also boost fertility when consumed thrice in a week.

6.    Evening PrimRose OilOne of my friend personally tried and got pregnant with this home remedy. Massaging on your lower abdomen increases the blood circulation in uterus. There is no rule to massage just apply and give warm hot compression.

7.    Royal JellyI have read many articles, news feed, reviews and blogs about royal jelly. It is taken from the saliva of queen bee. Easily available in online market. It is costly. It increases ER lining and boost your fertility 

8.    PomegranateI took one in each day without break to maintain my uterus healthy

9.    Castor oil packApplying castor oil on lower abdomen and give hot water compression to remove and cyst formation. It helps blood circulation in uterus.
